Josiah started off his birthday weekend by choosing his celebratory dinner. My amazing 5 year old chose his favorite...Thai food. We went to our favorite hole-in-the-wall where he gorged on spring rolls, Pad Thai, shrimp fried rice, and Tom Ka soup. He was ecstatic when the hostess loaded his pockets with extra Thai candies as we left.
His party theme this year was "Jake and the Neverland Pirates." We had a fun time creating a pirate adventure for all of his friends.
We played several games, including "explode the bomb" where the kids all tried to stomp on the bomb balloon tied to each others' ankles.
We also went on a very captivating treasure hunt complete with clues that led to our treasure chest pinata.
As if he hadn't stretched out his birthday enough, he got to celebrate with his class on the following Monday. He took Avengers cupcakes to share and enjoyed his special birthday crown. I can't believe my big boy is 5!
