2. Josiah has two kinds of shoes right now:
1) basketball shoes (known to the average person as Converse all-stars) and
2) Really fast shoes (known to the average person as tennis shoes).
3. Josiah is going to be a fireman for Halloween. He is getting really excited about Halloween, though he calls it "Hallo-wing." He loves candy, and he remembers which house on the block had a witch last year. He was terrified last year, but now he seems pretty eager to visit.
4. Josiah has figured out how to get onto the countertop with no assistance--not even from a stool. This is devastating, as the "sugar" jar with candy and fruit snacks in it is now accessible at all times by little hands.
5. The only way for me to effectively keep Josiah in his bed at night is to threaten to turn out the hallway light if he gets up. He has a Lite-Brite train night light in his room that stays on, but he likes the hallway light for some reason. Once a night the hallway light gets turned off for a couple of minutes while Josiah laments his poor choices, and then the light gets turned back on under the condition he will not get back out of his bed. The light has never been turned off twice.
