Evangeline Lucille, you are a true treasure. We are so thankful for the year we have been afforded with you, and we look forward to the privilege of many, many more.

One year of good news and light.
One year. It's truly hard to believe. It's been one whole year that we have had the joy of our daughter in our family. The turmoil, the agonizing wait, the questions...they seem so distant after a full year of relishing in the fruition of God's promise. Oh, what joy our sweet baby girl has brought us in just one year's time. She is such a different person than the day she came home. Our quiet, observant baby has blossomed into a quite outgoing and vocal little girl. Her hesitations have been replaced by her ability to confidently trust we aren't going anywhere even when we aren't in sight. Her chubby baby face and furrowed brow has melted into the sweetest toddler grin and bright eyes. She says hello to every stranger in the store, and confidently tells them she is "good." She comes up to me, gives me unsolicited kisses, and tells me, "I yuv you da most." She runs around screeching, chasing her brother, and making demands for what she desires. She has perfected the toddler tantrum. She loves to play babies, read books, and color. Her security blankets are her blanket, her teddy bear, and a water cup. She is daring and nurturing, gentle but ready to hold her own. She is light to every room and heart. She is my daughter. It's really still such a wonderful thing to marvel over.
