A day from Down Under.

We have had an exciting two days, as we had a friend from Australia come to stay with us. The fun part about it was that we didn't know him until he showed up at our doorstep. Levi (that's him!) is actually a musician on the sister record label to Jonathan's...and so of course he and Jonathan already had plenty of common ground. Levi has been staying with several of the Rebuilt Records artists on his trip here, and we were lucky to be able to host him for a couple of days. We tried to redeem his perception of American food, as he had been here nearly a week and had only eaten low quality fast food over and over again. We had a great time learning about the differences in our cultures and correcting misperceptions of the typical American family (thank you, Hollywood media). We took him to Stone Mountain, because every Aussie should see the largest piece of exposed granite in the world. The funny part was trying to explain why it was a good idea to carve Confederate generals into the mountain. We took the Skybuckets to the top so he could look out over Georgia, and it really was a great opportunity for him to get a perspective on the beautiful land we call home. In other news...Josiah is calling anything he likes "Dada," but he has yet to grace us with the name of the most beautiful woman in his life (ahem, MAMA--JUST SAY IT!!!). He does love dogs so much that he lights up every time we see one and begins to chant "Dog Dog," "Dog Dog!" I am not lying. We are saying "Doggie," but he calls them "Dog Dog," and it is surprisingly clear and distinct from "Dada." I see where his priorities lie.

He is now able to do this really fun party trick, compliments my mom. When you ask where his tongue is he sticks it out. It is pretty funny. We will try to get that on video soon. I have spent dedicated hours trying to get his "uh oh" and different sounds on video. I haven't had huge success, but I am posting a couple of videos with just snippets into the life of his chatter.
