Beach bums.

After our trip to see Jonathan's grandparents we journeyed to Seaside Beach, FL where we spent a week at a beach house with some of our best friends. We had never been to Seaside before, but it was absolutely beautiful and what we consider one of the best kept secrets of Florida beaches! We were so grateful that there wasn't a trace of oil. In fact, the water looked like the Caribbean. Jonathan drank a bottle of water and then filled it back up with ocean water. It was so crystal clear that he tried to convince a friend to drink it. It is located directly between Panama City and Destin. The small community is very bike friendly...there are bike trails everywhere! We took our bikes and had a great time touring around the town (which, by the way, rumor has it that The Truman Show was filmed there, if it gives you an idea of the eutopia feel).

The week with our friends was wonderful. We had two two-year-olds and a 3 month old in the house, and everyone stayed sane and happy! Josiah absolutely loved the beach. He also really loved the pool. We spent the week helping him learn to swim, and we were really impressed with the results. I am including a video of it because it was so astounding to us how well he is doing! Our schedule every day was as follows: wake up at 6:45 (thank you Josiah and Central Time); cook breakfast around 8:30am (each family took a turn); hit the beach by 10am; hit the pool briefly before lunch; lunch and nap; walk to the pool again (only 4 houses down from us); clean up for dinner. It was really a great time and Josiah is a little brown sun baby now. I promise I put spf 50 on him. Everyone felt very rested, and Josiah is begging for the chance to go back to the beach really soon!

This is the result of "I do myself."

One night we took Josiah out to ride a carousel and Ferris wheel and to play a round of putt-putt. It was quite a success, and as we finished putt-putt, which Josiah did surprisingly well, he said, "I need more (golf) holes!"
