Memorial Day Weekend

We had a VERY full Memorial Day weekend. We started it off on Friday with a cookout at our house to celebrate Christopher's graduation and 18th birthday. We got up early Saturday morning and headed out for a day on the lake with friends from our church. Josiah had the great privilege of going on his first boat ride, which of course he loved. We spent all day swimming, boating, and playing classic yard games in the sun. Josiah's favorite yard game was croquet, and I must admit he was pretty good at getting the ball under the "bridge" as he so referred to the wickets. It was a great time with good friends!

On Sunday we headed out to my parents' house for the first trip to the pool. Josiah and Paw Paw hit the driving range before the pool. Josiah recently got his own real pint-sized club, and now he thinks he is a professional. The familial battle has begun for his affections toward a favored sport. I must admit that he currently seems good and excited about just about everything he tries. We're pulling for whatever he wants, though his favorite seems to still be basketball. Thanks to Noni he also likes to play tennis, thanks to uncle Toph he knows how to do a home run trot, and thanks to Paw Paw he can do this:

Then we went to the pool!
